February 2023: A Romantic World Awaits

Fall In Love with Cruising this Valentine’s Day

Niagara Falls Tunnel, Canadian Side

As we fall into Valentine's Day and love is in the air, I wanted to share a little of me with all of you.

Todd and I got married on ice skates as a part of Valentine's Day on Ice with our local radio station.

Being our second chance at love for the both of us, a traditional wedding was not in our thoughts.

Every year, we get to celebrate our anniversary and Valentine's Day together, making all of the hearts and love everywhere even more special.

This year, a little early, we decided to celebrate our anniversary with a winter trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto for a concert of our favorite band.

In one morning, we were in a tunnel out to the falls 180 meters below ground to the top of the CN Tower in Toronto where we rode a glass bottom elevator 114 stories high!  (I couldn't look down)

If you are thinking of a New England and Canada cruise, taking this day trip prior is a must!

We enjoyed every part of the adventure!

Show Love Before, During, and After Travel

Before: Arrange for fresh flowers in your stateroom, custom gift baskets in Walt Disney World, dessert platters, or a spa gift certificate before travel. These are all small ways to shower your loved one with extra affection during your trip. If you're planning a group vacation, purchase custom shirts, personalized cups, or towel clips for everyone to use in destination and have a special souvenir to use later too!

During: During travel, leave little notes of appreciation for your loved one to find each day of your vacation – tuck one into a toiletry bag or maybe a shoe and let them be surprised by your kind words. Sneak out in the morning before your friend, partner, or family member awakens for the day and return with a coffee or pastry to greet them.

After: Recreate a delicious meal you enjoyed during vacation, whether it be cooking at home together or dining out. Make a date night with your loved ones to watch trip videos and look at photos together, reminiscing about the fun you had on vacation.

3 Simple Ways to Spark Romance on Your Next Cruise

Take over a hot tub: When other passengers are busily preparing for dinner or clapping along to the evening show, it's the perfect time to indulge in a quiet hot tub soak. Prefer a private hot tub on your stateroom's balcony? Some cruise lines offer suites that tout balcony soaks, like the Owner's Suite on one of several Norwegian cruise ships or the Royal Suite on one of several Royal Caribbean ships. (Check specific ships for availability.)

Order a private meal to eat on your balcony: Room service goes from ordinary convenience to extraordinary romance when you dine together while watching the sun dip below the horizon. Princess Cruises, for example, offers Ultimate Balcony Dining, which features an upgraded room service menu and a fancily dressed table.

Spice up your stateroom: Pack a few small goodies to elevate your stateroom's romantic ambience. Battery-operated tea lights, artificial rose petals, and silk pillowcases are small yet thoughtful touches sure to please your partner. If you're celebrating a birthday, honeymoon, or anniversary, pack a banner to hang with magnets on the walls of your cabin.
