September 2022: The World by Cruise Sets Sail
JWA Cruises has moved and is not The World by Cruise!
Big changes are on the horizon!
Over the summer, not only did I travel, but my family and I also moved! With life changes, college decision changes, and need for a larger home office space, it was time to get a bigger home!
As I continue to grow as a cruise travel advisor, changes were necessary to promote additional growth. I have decided to rebrand my business to illustrate that growth and my accomplishments!
Cruise clients will still receive the same attention and service they expect and deserve, it will just be coming from a different email and business name.
After a 9 day cruise with the whole family, I convinced my Mom (my travel partner for life) to hop on another cruise - The Disney Dream. Along with having the adventure of a lifetime with dear friends of ours, we also enjoyed one of a cruise's greatest pleasures, the food. Treating the senses to beautifully prepared dishes crafted with the freshest ingredients partnered with an education in local cuisine is pure bliss.
We spent one morning at the Palo Brunch, a specialty option on the Dream. The views were breathtaking, the food was delicious and the company around the table made this one of my most beloved vacations. Palo Brunch was for sure the star of our cruise vacation memories.
Specialty Dining on Cruise Ships
While cruise ship dining was long associated with basic dining room fare and midnight buffets, cruise ships of today tout creative menus, fun dining experiences, and a variety of specialty restaurants that cater to every preference.
Let's look at a few fun offerings on some of the larger ocean ships. Be sure to plan ahead and make your reservations before sailing so you don't miss out on a unique meal at sea.
Imaginative cuisine inspired by the five elements (earth, sea, fire, ice, and sun) reigns supreme at Wonderland, where your dining experience kicks off with dipping a paintbrush in water and painting your menu to reveal your options. The food presentation here is stunning - be sure to have your camera ready as your server places each dish before you.
Named among USA Today's "Best Cruise Steakhouses," Crown Grill offers passengers an elegant dining experience complete with an open theater style kitchen. Snuggle into a comfortable booth and feast on a classic filet mignon or broiled lobster tail; then finish your meal with the indulgent Warm Chocolate Mousse Trifle.
Le Petit Chef isn't just dinner...it's a unique dining experience paired with an enchanting story told through table art. Four animated miniature chefs from Italy, Spain, France, and Japan showcase specialty dishes from their homelands, combining a choreographed tabletop show with the server's presentation of your meal. It's a magical display of culinary and art skills that you'll remember forever.
Embracing family-style dining in a restaurant that provokes the warmth and love of an Italian dining room, Cucina del Capitano charms with its red and white checkered tablecloths and crew family photos. A comprehensive menu of classic Italian dishes might make decisions challenging, but luckily sharing here is encouraged!
When everyone's taste buds are craving something different, Food Republic provides a delicious solution: a menu that features a fusion of flavors from around the world. Sushi, handhelds, small plates, and desserts are all perfect for sharing and sampling at this tasty eatery.
Immerse Yourself in Food Experiences While Traveling
Eating your way around the world is fun, but if you're really looking to embrace your inner foodie, why not combine your enthusiasm with a little education?
Culinary tours are a fun way to immerse yourself in your destination, learn a little history, and of course, eat delicious cuisine. Some culinary tours focus on a specific type of food (chocolate, for example) while some visit a few restaurants to sample beverages, baked goods, and typical dishes of the region.
Cooking classes combine the skills of food preparation with the pleasure of eating, giving you the know-how when you return home to "revisit" your favorite places through your newly acquired chef skills. From cupcake decorating on a cruise ship, to mixology classes at a resort, to pizza making in Italy, the options are truly endless.
